DESCRIPTION:Friends across the Prairie Association:\n\nGreetings!\n\nWe are picking up the work we agreed to at our business meeting last fall\, to reaffirm our connections as the churches and clergy of the Prairie Association and create a governance structure that fits the present time.  What that looks like depends on what we together find will work best\, coordinated with our covenants with the wider church.  The Spirit works through the gathered body\, so your participation is truly vital. To that end\, you are invited to join in the 2026 Spring Association Meeting on Saturday\, May 2nd at Federated Church of Sycamore.\n\nOur theme for this year’s meeting is: "A Reaffirmation of Community: How we restart living out covenant by gathering together”\n\nOur time will be spent in group discussion and workshops\, helping us to focus on what God is calling us to do and be as the Prairie Association.\n\nWorkshop descriptions and breakout information will be sent out closer to the meeting. A continental breakfast is included. Please specify any dietary restrictions/needs during registration.\n\nThe cost is $20 per person. \n\nRegistration online here. Registration is being done through Realm. You can pay online directly when registering (choose “Pay Now”) OR you can pay by check at the door (choose “Pay In-Person”). Please note any dietary restrictions/needs during registration.\n\nA virtual option is in the works\, but details have not been finalized. Once those are known that information will be added to the registration form.\n\nThe full agenda and workshop information can be found here.\n\nThe CMA Spring Meeting After-Party\n\n\tPizza with the Pope! We are inviting meeting participants to gather at nearby Aurelio’s Pizza for lunch. According to the Chicago Tribune\, Pope Leo XIV has been known to enjoy their thin crust pepperoni pizza! A mainstay of the Homewood restaurant scene since 1959\, Aurelio’s in Homewood just might have the photos and heavenly pizza as evidence of the Pope’s presence. This optional\, pay-your-own way social gathering is intended to strengthen personal relationships and provide the opportunity for continued conversations.\n\tThe fun continues when you bring your walking shoes! After lunch\, meeting organizers are planning a spring hike in Homewood’s Izaak Walton Preserve\, described as a “193-acre open space filled with woodland\, lakes\, and diverse wildlife carved out from an ancient glacial lake and sandy shoreline.” The Preserve has nearly four miles of gravel walking paths.\n\nYou can pay online directly when registering by choosing "Pay Now" or you can pay by check one of two ways by choosing the "Pay In Person" option during checkout:\n\n\tPlease make checks payable to "Illinois Conference UCC" and include "CMA Spring Meeting" in the memo line.\n\tPay when you arrive for the meeting on May 16th.\n\nThe deadline to register is Sunday\, May 10th.
