SUMMARY:Active Clergy: Boundary Awareness Training Opportunities via Zoom
DESCRIPTION: \n\nAs you're aware\, all persons with authorized ministerial standing in an Association of the Illinois Conference must complete an approved course on clergy boundaries/ethics every three years in order to maintain "good standing". Some of us may be out of compliance with this requirement as we've had fewer opportunities during the pandemic to take in-person training\, and not all of the online offerings have been approved by each Association's Committee on Ministry.\n\nOur colleague\, the Rev. Laurie Hill\, pastor of St. John UCC in Lincoln\, is a trained facilitator and is offering the following opportunities via Zoom for the completion of this requirement:\n• Retired clergy: Tuesday\, Feb. 2\, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.\n• Active clergy: Sunday\, Feb. 21\, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.\n• Active clergy: Tuesday\, Feb. 23\, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.\n• Active clergy: Wednesday\, Feb. 24\, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.\nThese offerings will satisfy the current requirement for basic boundary awareness training.\n\nTo register\, please e-mail Ms. Julie Grendahl\, Administrative Assistant\, at ilconfpajulie@gmail.com or call her at (815) 758-3497.\n\nThe costs associated with these offerings are covered by the Clergy Development Funds of our Associations.\n\nWe are grateful for Laurie's willingness to share her expertise\, and for Prairie and Western Associations sharing this opportunity with us.\n\nQuestions? SUMMARY:UCC Visiting Scholar Traci Blackmon to Present “After the Elections: Our Common Work as a Society”
DESCRIPTION: \n\nRev. Traci Blackmon is Elmhurst University’s national UCC Visiting Scholar this year.   On Tuesday\, Feb. 23\, the University and the Illinois Conference of the United Church of Christ will host Blackmon for the virtual lecture and conversation “After the Elections: Our Common Work as a Society.”    Virtual lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m.\n\nAdmission is free but registration is required.   An access link to the virtual event will be provided closer to the event date.   The DuPage NAACP and the president of Chicago Theological Seminary are co-sponsors of this event.\n\nFor more information\, please contact the Rev.
