As an institution\, it leads the world in oil consumption and emits enormous amounts of greenhouse gases. To grasp the environmental impact of the U.S. military\, however\, requires us to go beyond statistics and numbers. One must listen to those from the communities directly affected. This webinar will provide an overview of environmental justice concerns pertaining to the U.S. military while also centering the voices of those engaged in the struggle to stop the pollution caused by the Navy’s Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility on the island of Oahu. Faith communities will not only learn about the issues\, but also how they can take action for justice. DESCRIPTION:\n\nWELCOME to our All Conference Chat\, happening every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m on Zoom. These conversations are designed to help us grow Stronger Together as One Conference throughout the year and are open to all clergy and lay persons who wish to attend.\n\nJoin the Illinois Conference Ministry Leadership Team this week as we strengthen our connection. For the first few months in 2022 the focus of our All Conference Chat is to overview all the various staff positions for the Illinois Conference. With recent changes to our support staff structure\, changes in our TPIRC leadership and job descriptions\, and the implementation of new job descriptions for our Ministry Leadership Team\, we want to take the time to have a more in depth look at of each of our staff positions. This includes getting to know the person holding the position and learning what their role is with the Conference staff structure. These overviews are in an effort to help create clarity in the midst of all these transitions.
